Ending 2024 with another significant partnership! ⚛️ We are excited to announce a strategic partnership with NTPC Limited to advance our thorium-based ANEEL™️ fuel. National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is India's largest public utility with over 25% of total electricity generation. In November 2024, NTPC announced a investment over $40bn USD to build out 20GW (article linked below) of new nuclear power in India. Following our partnership with Larsen & Toubro & the successful irradiation results at Idaho National Laboratory, this partnership paves the path for ANEEL™️ deployment in NTPC's PHWRs, joint development of the fuel supply chain, and more. How can India become a developed nation by 2047 (Viksit Bharat) given the current constraints of uranium? India needs 20,000 TWh or 2,500 GWe of new nuclear to achieve its development aspirations, according to Dr. Anil Kakodkar. That equates to over 10,000 new 220 MW reactors (yes, you read that right.) That would require the world’s total uranium output 😳 Thus the dilemma: India’s nuclear needs cannot be met with uranium. 🎉ANNOUNCEMENT🎉 We achieved a monumental milestone at Idaho National Laboratory this month with successful irradiation of four ANEEL™️ rodlets to a historic burnup. This first batch of our thorium-based fuel rodlets reached over 20 GWd/MTU "burnup" which represents the energy generated. This is over 3.5x currently used natural uranium fuels, a groundbreaking achievement for thorium generally and a major leap forward to commercialize of our game-changing nuclear fuel. No fuel? No party! A phenomenal conference hosted by MIT Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering. We discussed the arising opportunities (and sober realities) of nuclear fuel’s role in the “party” of new reactor designs and the excitement around a nuclear energy scale up. Our thorium-based ANEEL™️ fuel was highlighted, courtesy of our fuel designer and MIT professor Koroush Shirvan!

For the US, the large-scale deployment of ANEEL™ fuel, which relies on HALEU, will help stimulate the HALEU supply chain in the United States, supporting domestic production while contributing to the global nuclear energy landscape.
