Today, Mayor and Council officially opened the new dog run in City Park—an inclusive, sustainable space designed for Kelowna’s dog-loving community. 🐶 The area features agility equipment, inclusive design, and repurposed materials from on-site trees. 🌳 Ensuring that the space is welcoming and inclusive was a key focus in the design. The dog run features two wheelchair-accessible entrances, a wide concrete pathway for easy navigation, and additional accessible parking stalls added to the adjacent City Park lot. The area is also equipped with accessibility standard compliant gates and artificial turf to support inclusivity, offering a flat, stable surface for wheelchair users and others with mobility challenges. The dog run also includes agility features such as a tunnel, balance beams, agility poles, a ramp, bridge, and hoops to encourage exercise and skill-building. We look forward to inviting residents and visitors to this new amenity! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dv8_D4gA
