About us
The natural beauty and perfect winter climate combine to make the City of Indio the leading city in the region. Located in the Coachella Valley in Southern California, Indio spans 30 square miles and is the largest municipality in the Valley, both in area and population. Following significant growth in the region, Indio has seen a 73% increase of residents since 2000. This dramatic growth and success in recent years has required strategic response by City leadership in the upgrade of infrastructure and services. Today the population in Indio is approximately 90,000. Indio has historically been the main population center in the Coachella Valley and continues to serve as the location for Riverside County’s eastern branch offices.

We were thrilled to host the 2025 Indio State of the City last week, highlighting "Progress You Can See: Celebrating 95 Years of Growth" at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino! With a record-breaking 520+ attendees, this year’s event was our biggest yet, a true reflection of Indio’s continued growth, innovation, and community spirit. We opened with live music from Radio Ready as guests arrived, with coffee and matcha from Everbloom Coffee and games for everyone to enjoy, and then Mayor Glenn Miller and our City Council hit the stage with exciting progress updates, announcements and so much more. A heartfelt thank you to our amazing sponsors for helping make this milestone celebration possible. Here’s to 95 years of progress and a bright future ahead for the City of Indio!
