    Championing UK SME's

Strange day today. After 14 years of working with Edward Sanford to build ChadSan from two guys beavering away in their respective spare bedrooms either side of London to a team of 35 professionals supporting 100's of entrepreneurial companies and business owners across offices in Guildford, London, Southend and Bristol we are (with effect from tomorrow) stepping down from the day to day running of the business and handing the baton on to a new generation of leaders. With over 21 years of ChadSan experience between them I have absolutely no doubt that David Spencer, Jacquetta Jackson and Sean Hookins ACA have the expertise, determination and passion to drive the company forward in an ever evolving industry. There are way too many people to thank for getting us to this point, from all of our incredible clients to some amazingly supportive suppliers, professional partners and industry peers (you all know who you are). Biggest shout out though goes to the amazing ChadSan team members past and present who every day show an incredible level of passion for supporting the small business community that is the lifeblood of the UK economy. I'm hugely proud of the businesses we have supported but also of the careers that we have nurtured and qualifications at all levels (AAT / ATT / ICAEW / ACCA / Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT)) that we have enabled over the years. I guess the question then is what next? This is certainly not retirement. Those who know me will know that "relaxed" just isn't my personality type and frankly I bloody hate golf (don't have the patience for it). Ed and I will still be supporting the ChadSan team from our non-exec positions on the Board, helping shape strategy and cheering them on every step of the way. I'm also hugely excited to be carving out some extra time to get even more involved in the UK's amazing small business community - finding new ways to help the next generation of business owners and entrepreneurs. Watch this space... p.s. picture is from our Team Day last week when we announced mine and Ed's departure. The team look like they've taken the news well (they're crying on the inside I'm sure!)

It's been a week since I presented a Lunch and Learn webinar, hosted by Enterprise Nation (specifically Ryan Tindall). I didn't post anything before the webinar because quite honestly, I was pretty nervous about it. While I regularly present similar training webinars internally, the thought of presenting to a "room" full of strangers, in my head, was much scarier. I needn't have worried, it went pretty well if I do say so myself. Luckily for you, the webinar was recorded (link below) so you can watch it now -or any time you want, as many time as you want! If you do, you will benefit from some of the insights I have gained in my two decades working with small businesses and their owners. https://lnkd.in/eNVKGbgG

  • Bandwidth #3 featured the brilliant Ash Phillips, who shared an honest and insightful journey through entrepreneurship — from big wins to moments of self-doubt, and everything in between. His story was a powerful reminder of what drives emerging leaders and the importance of shaping systems that truly support our communities. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and made the event so special. We’re proud to have supported this event and grateful to Temple1852 Bristol for being such a welcoming and inspiring venue. Looking forward to the next one! #Bandwidth #Entrepreneurship #ChadSan #BristolEvents

This morning I had the pleasure of speaking at the LinkedIn Local Guildford event sponsored by ChadSan. It was a great challenge to deliver an engaging talk about accountancy to a room full of business owners without losing the room! It was wonderful to meet so many people and re-connect with old contacts. Thank you to REBECCA Newenham for the opportunity and organising the event. As always, it’s so well run and you create a wonderful atmosphere. I think I’ve caught the talking bug, when’s the next one?!?!

Had a fantastic morning as ChadSan sponsored its first LinkedIn Local Guildford at The Guildford Pavilion. A big shout out to Jacquetta Jackson who did a great job communicating how we at ChadSan like to do things a bit differently in our approach to supporting small businesses!

Why do I love hosting LinkedIn Local Guildford? Because it’s about people, not pitches. 🤝 Today’s event was another perfect reminder of why I love hosting these events - full of genuine connection, vibrant energy and not a single aggressive business card swap in sight! (as highlighted by the fab Matt Stoneham). Instead there were real conversations, meaningful introductions and a community that truly wants to support one another. A huge thank you to our imaginative sponsor, ChadSan – your support (Jacquetta Jackson Sean Hookins ACA Gemma Thorne Holly Donohue) helped bring the spark to the room today 🌟 There’s something magical that happens when you gather professionals who are open, curious and kind. And I’m so proud to lead this network that values authenticity over elevator pitches! If you haven’t yet been to a LinkedIn Local Guildford meeting consider this your nudge. See you at the next one? 18th June 7pm at Soulspace and sponsored by Moore Kingston Smith. Thank you to the team at The Guildford Pavilion for hosting us so beautifully. #LinkedInLocalGuildford #NetworkingWithHeart #CommunityMatters #Chadsan #NoMoreBusinessCardBombing
