About us
Our story began in September of 1993 when TASER International was founded by CEO Rick Smith with his brother Tom Smith. They consulted with Jack Cover, former NASA scientist and inventor of the original TASER® conducted energy weapons of the 1970s. Rick Smith was inspired to found the company after losing two high school football teammates who were shot and killed in a road rage incident. This experience led him to seek new technologies that would enable people to protect themselves without deploying lethal force in hopes of creating a bullet-less world. Today, Axon represents the entire network of devices, applications and people that is revolutionizing public safety around the world. Our mission is to protect life. We’re building the world’s largest and most trusted suite of public safety solutions. If you are seeking a career with purpose, we invite you to join us. Across Tsuut’ina Nation, community-centered policing comes to life each day through officers who lead with presence, build on connection and cultivate trust through transparency. That trust isn’t built overnight. It’s strengthened over time through daily interactions and the technology that supports the Tsuut'ina Nation Police Service. Tools like body-worn cameras, TASER energy weapons and drone technology help reinforce that assurance by enabling clear communication, safer responses and stronger training. Historically, past generations of First Nation community members felt hesitant to rely on police. Today those relationships are evolving. Tsuut’ina Nation Police officers are showing that the past doesn’t have to define the future and that trust grows through human connection, shared experience and a renewed commitment to serve. That curiosity sparked some powerful collaborations. And now? The future we were anticipating has arrived. Airspace is the new front line. The threats are real, but so is the opportunity—to lead, to innovate, and to build the systems that will define the next era of safety. 🔗 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gsGYMzUv
