Level 3 autonomy is here, but with a catch: most systems are limited to 60 km/h. Why can't they handle highway speeds? The problem is that most sensors can't see far enough ahead to make safe decisions at high speed. Arbe's high-resolution radar changes that, offering the 300+ -meter detection range needed for highway autonomy. See how it works: https://lnkd.in/dp-P3uxu

Radar Revolution. Delivered. $ARBE
About us
Arbe is building the future car’s eyes and brain using a High-Resolution Radar, enabling cars to “see” the environment in any weather and any lighting condition, to long, mid and short ranges, in any azimuth, elevation, range and Doppler. Our radar detects cars, motorcycles, bikes, and most importantly humans. Arbe’s radar, based on our proprietary chipsets, is a next generation of safety products for ADAS and autonomous driving, offering superior performance at a low cost, size and power consumption. For years, radar was a supporting actor in automotive safety. But that's changing. A new generation of radar is using 2,304 channels instead of the typical 200, delivering a superior view and a safe, hands-free driving experience in all weather conditions. Is radar finally ready to take the lead? Read more: https://lnkd.in/dUtcbqWS

Get this: A car that earned a 5-star safety rating a decade ago may not even get one star today. Are NHTSA and NCAP regulations creating a sensor arms race? What does it take to get a 5-star rating today? And how do new nighttime and bad-weather tests separate the best from the rest? All this in more in today’s episode.

Look beyond adaptive cruise control (ACC) and emergency braking (AEB) - that's just scratching the surface of what high-resolution radar can do. Traditional radar's narrow field of view and limited resolution made it suitable only for straight-line detection, reinforcing the perception that radar is a single-purpose sensor. Arbe's wide field-of-view radar changes this completely. The system can detect pedestrians on sidewalks, monitor complex intersections, and track hundreds of objects simultaneously across the entire driving environment. This wide-angle capability combined with high resolution changes the reliability of AEB and ACC, reducing phantom brakings and enabling advanced applications that were previously impossible based on radar data: highway autopilot, automated lane changes, hands-free driving in complex urban environments, and full environmental mapping. Rather than being limited to basic safety functions, high-resolution radar serves as the foundation for comprehensive autonomous driving systems. https://lnkd.in/dADZQPia

While engineers test radar in the real world, Senior Researcher Marom Dadon is building its perfect digital twin. His challenge? Creating a virtual radar so real, it can predict performance and solve critical edge cases before the hardware is built. Harnessing the power of NVIDIA GPUs, this simulation allows Marom to model, test, and refine complex radar behavior with unmatched realism. When scenarios are too costly or dangerous to recreate, he finds the solution in code. How does he do it? Read on
