🚨 According to the latest ADL Global 100: Index of Antisemitism®, 46% of adults worldwide hold elevated levels of antisemitic attitudes. For this latest study, adults from 102 countries plus the Palestinian Territories were surveyed on their opinions and attitudes toward Jews. We also found that 1 in 5 people globally have never heard of the Holocaust. Despite the alarming findings about antisemitic attitudes and Holocaust awareness, Global 100 data highlights areas where governments can take action to begin to reverse these trends, and finds that governments can count on the support of an encouraging majority (57%) of respondents globally who recognize that hate towards Jews is a serious problem in the world. NEW: Hate and harassment were present in almost half of online multiplayer game sessions tested with a range of religious, ethnic and national identity-based usernames, shows a new report published by the ADL Center for Technology and Society. Examples of hate and harassment included racial slurs, trash-talking or disrupted play. One-third of gaming sessions that expressed pride in ethnic, religious or national identity resulted in abuse and more than a third of gaming sessions included harassment toward Jewish people. Previous research by ADL and others has repeatedly suggested that online games are spaces where hate and harassment are rampant; ADL set out to examine what happens when gamers express pride in different religious, ethnic, and national identities while playing online competitive multiplayer games. Are they targeted with hate and harassment? If so, what is the nature of this harassment? And is there any prosocial behavior in these games? Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eqEPqYTW

We welcome the agreement that has been reached between Israel and Hamas to secure the release of 33 hostages who were inhumanely kidnapped and cruelly held captive by Hamas and other terrorist groups in Gaza since October 7, 2023. For over 15 months, family members, friends, and many across Israel and the world, fought tirelessly and unwaveringly on behalf of the hostages, and today there is finally hope that they will return home. We are deeply appreciative to all those involved in helping this agreement come to fruition, including President Biden and President-elect Trump, who have long committed to ensure the release of the hostages. We call on the incoming Trump Administration, and relevant global and regional actors, to make certain that Hamas upholds its commitments and releases all hostages. We reiterate our pledge to not rest until all 98 hostages held captive in Gaza are freed and returned to their families. https://lnkd.in/eNrnQjkr
