𝐀𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐎 𝐚𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐀𝐄 𝐕𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 🏎 We are proud to have participated as a technical partner in Formula SAE Italy 2025 in Varano, the only university-level competition in Italy where students design, build, and race a single-seater car. The project involves university teams from all over the world, competing in a total of 7 events: - 3 static events: Business Plan, Design, Cost - 4 dynamic events: Acceleration, Skidpad, Autocross, Trackdrive There are three competition categories: CV (combustion engine), EV (electric vehicles), and DV (driverless vehicles). As Abrigo, we chose to support the students from Politecnico di Torino, members of the “Squadra Corse Driverless” team, competing in the driverless category, their vehicle integrates LiDAR technologies and vision systems with cameras for advanced environmental perception. Supporting research, experimentation, and collaboration between industry and academia is a key part of our vision. Congratulations to all the students and teams who took part. The future starts here! Automated Mozzarella Packaging: An Innovative and Efficient Gripping System for a Delicate Product In our latest project, we tackled the challenge of optimizing the primary packaging of fresh mozzarella in trays—a highly delicate product that requires precision and care at every stage of automated handling. The client had two main goals: to preserve the aesthetic quality of the product and to improve the efficiency and consistency of the production line, while also reducing the time needed for cleaning and format changes. To meet these needs, we designed and integrated a gripping solution based on SoftGripping technology, custom-configured to adapt to the physical characteristics of mozzarella and the operating conditions of a high-speed line in a humid environment. The gripper, made with flexible fingers from food-grade certified material, is fully washable, compatible with Delta robots, and designed to ensure a stable yet gentle grip, even when shape and surface moisture vary. The adoption of this technology brought tangible benefits: reduced downtime for cleaning, increased operational continuity, better adaptability to different formats, and preservation of the product's aesthetic integrity. Moreover, its modular and easy-to-sanitize configuration allows for quick integration into other tray-packaging lines. This project demonstrates how tailored automation can enhance not only productivity but also the quality and hygiene of processes, creating a new balance between industrial efficiency and product care. The experience gained shows that collaboration between design and flexible technologies like SoftGripping enables the development of scalable and versatile solutions for the food industry.
