Yesterday was the first meeting of our Aberdeen Energy Taskforce – established to accelerate Aberdeen's transformation into a global renewable energy hub. Using local expertise, it will ensure Great British Energy investment in Northeast Scotland delivers jobs and provides skills for local people. Industry experts Graeme Sword and Iain Anderson FRSA will lead the taskforce, providing strategic and community insight and unlocking opportunities for local supply chains and manufacturing. This is an exciting opportunity at Aberdeen City Council with Fleet Services. We are currently recruiting for a permanent, full time HGV Mechanic. We have a large variety of Hydrogen, Electric and diesel vehicles in our Fleet. come join our team of expert mechanics and follow Aberdeen city councils journey no Net Zero. The post holder is expected to demonstrate experience of: • Completing inspections, servicing, repairs and maintenance of vehicles, plant, and equipment to required standards. • Carry out duties in compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures. • Operate Council equipment to the required standard and report any defects to their supervisor. • Complete Digital paperwork as required. The post holder needs to hold as a minimum: • City and Guilds Heavy vehicle service and maintenance (9302) or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering • Full UK Driving Licence • Preferably Hold a Category C (HGV) Licence and relevant CPC or to be obtained.
