At TechNet Augusta 2025, MG Jacqueline "Denise" McPhail, Commanding General of U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM), delivered an afternoon plenary speech that drew a compelling comparison between the Army’s Unified Network and the synchronized precision of an “Eight” in competitive rowing. Just as each rower must contribute in perfect rhythm to generate "Speed, Precision, and Power," MG McPhail emphasized that the Unified Network achieves its strength through the harmony of eight critical precepts, starting at eight counting down to one: 8. Integrate new capabilities 7. Enhance and support the warfighter 6. Improve DODIN-A availability and security 5. Enable data centric operations 4. Deliver agile connectivity 3. Provide seamless movement 2. Lessen complexity for warfighter 1. Empower senior mission commanders Each of these elements must work together—no single part operating in isolation—to propel the Army toward greater lethality, adaptability, and simplicity on the digital battlefield. Industry partners, vendors, and Army stakeholders alike expressed their appreciation for the insightful address, noting how effectively it captured the vision and momentum of NETCOM’s role in leading the Army’s digital transformation. With this speech, NETCOM reinforced its position as a driving force behind the Army’s modernization—ensuring that the Unified Network remains a decisive advantage for the warfighter.

One of our priorities is our people and coming together for comradery and sharing challenges builds the foundation of the strongest teams. One way we focus on this is scheduling physical training that brings our local Brigade leaders together once a month. Last week, 114th Signal Battalion led the event where we hiked to Chimney Rock and Wolf Rock in Catoctin Mountain Park, Thurmont, Maryland. Leader PT also promotes the Army’s H2F program. #H2F was modeled after Special Forces and professional/collegiate athletics and moves away from a one-size-fits-all model and acknowledges every Soldier is unique, and different units have different missions. #RazorSharp #H2F 7th Signal Command (Theater) 302d Signal Battalion

Last week we gathered to celebrate our Brigade S4 NCOIC, MSG Santana, at his retirement ceremony. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to such an amazing NCO who always put our mission and Soldiers first but we were excited to see him off as he begins this next chapter. MSG(R) Santana, thank you for everything you have done for your Soldiers, your Civilian counterparts, and our Army. We know we were incredibly lucky to have your mentorship and knowledge at the Brigade, and we wish you and your family all the best in your transition into the civilian sector. #RazorSharp #SoldierForLife

📷 COMCAM Soldiers are at it again in Aviano, Italy! Sgt. MichaelWestendorf, assigned to 55th Public Affairs Company (Combat Camera), took these amazing photos of Army paratroopers assigned to 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, during an Airborne training exercise on July 22. The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army’s Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward stationed in Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to enhance readiness and lethality. #RazorSharp #EdgeoftheSword #EyesoftheArmy 7th Signal Command (Theater)

#resilience Recently our Behavioral Health Staff led a class on resiliency and mental readiness to Soldiers and Civilians assigned to our Headquarters and Headquarters Company. The class is part of the Army Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program to ensure the well-being of our team, which helps drive performance throughout the Brigade. H2F encompasses five domains that contribute to overall soldier readiness: physical, mental, nutritional, spiritual, and sleep. These domains work together to enhance performance, reduce health risks, and prepare Soldiers for the demands of military service. Although the program is geared towards Soldier readiness, Civilians are encouraged to participate in classes and we were proud to have great participation from our civilians. Thank you again to our Behavioral Health staff for leading the class and encouraging great discussion! #RazorSharp #H2F #MentalDomain 7th Signal Command (Theater)
