Victor Luckerson's Summary

I’m a practicing journalist and media manager. I currently manage a staff of approximately 100 at The Crimson White, the independent daily newspaper at The University of Alabama. The Crimson White is a 15,000-circulation paper publisehd four days a week and is one of the largest newspapers in the state of Alabama, student or professional. Prior to being the editor of the CW, I launched an independent online news magazine at the University of Alabama called Changing Tides that addresses pressing campus issues through depth reporting. Changing Tides quickly became an award-winning publication and recently received a grant from the Center for American Progress.

Throughout my journalistic career I have been interested in bringing fresh ideas, whether it’s in unique story ideas, brand new publications, or exciting new initiatives at long-standing institutions. I think the innovation going on today in the journalism industry makes it an incredibly exciting field that will continue to expand through video, audio, social media, alternative story forms and the written word. I am interested in new opportunities in newspapers, magazines, web publications, and media concepts not yet discovered.
