Tom is CEO and co-founder of ROCS, a staffing company dedicated to providing students with jobs that relate to their major. Tom co-founded the company three years ago at the age of 19, while still a full-time student. As CEO, Tom actively recruits and matches student employees with businesses in Northern Virginia. Under Tom’s leadership, ROCS has seen a 300% growth rate every year.
Tom attended George Mason University and earned his B.A. in Government and International Politics with a minor in business in 2006. During college he occasionally worked for The Seniors Coalition, a non-profit organization in Virginia. He ran the phone bank and recruited and managed the interns for an issue campaign which served as the inspiration for ROCS staffing.
Tom was awarded the 2005 Global Student Entrepreneur Award-Mississippi/East Coast Regional and College Entrepreneur Organization’s Global Finalist. Tom and his business partner have also been featured in several local papers for being student entrepreneurs.
In 2005, he served as Ambassador on Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce.
Tom likes to spend his free time in the great outdoors, hiking, running and mountain biking. He is also an avid, but not necessarily gifted golfer; he is known to be quite cranky if he doesn’t get his weekly round in. Tom also likes to referee high school basketball leagues.
