My specialty as a consultant is communicating technology knowledge effectively and getting computers to serve people better. I deal mostly in interfaces, processes, and documentation. In a typical engagement I will determine the tasks needed for business processes, analyze the mental operations needed to perform those tasks, and then determine the best way for computer technology to help them. I've been doing this, using primarily Microsoft's SharePoint and Office technologies, since 2001. I help clients plan and deploy their portals and knowledge management platforms, and help these use these tools most effectively.
Prior to SharePoint consulting, I did a variety of different kinds of system and application programming, specializing in scientific and engineering applications. I have developed software for nuclear power plants, radar pattern analysis, industrial process control, and a satellite groundstation.
