Thomas Riisom’s Summary

Thomas holds a master degree in economics specialised in evaluation and in public administration from the University of Southern Denmark. Thomas has kept his specialist interests updated in several international workshops in evaluation, consulting skills and project management and leadership. Additionally, Thomas has followed longer courses at the Danish School of Public Administration and the Danish School of Journalism.

At present Thomas is Director in Deloitte Business Consulting based in Copenhagen, Denmark. As Director, Thomas is responsible for sale, product development, client management, and project delivery mainly in the area of policy research, evaluation, and social studies. These tasks varies greatly but are often characterised by a low degree of standardisation and a high degree of complexity. Thomas also works in the areas of strategy, administrative optimisation, deregulation, and organisational development. Presently, Thomas is also employed as part-time associate professor at the University of Southern Denmark.

During his career Thomas has been working with a large number of clients in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Most clients have been public and Thomas has worked at all levels and in almost all areas of the public sector. Thomas has worked internationally as well.

Several of Thomas’s evaluations and analyses has been published. In 2006, Thomas was author of book focusing on evaluation (Elementær evaluering). Thomas is member of The Danish Evaluation Society, UK Evaluation Society, European Evaluation Society and American Evaluation Association.
