Emergency Responder, both professionally, as a Technician & Public Safety Liaison and as a volunteer; the spectrum of incidents or events include supporting the recovery during the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew and subsequent hurricanes, to the 2007 Independence Day Celebration on the National Mal and other events and exercises;
and an Independent Hazards and Disaster Researcher conducting research and applied a range of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques, both qualitative and quantitative, concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations (policies, processes, procedures, methods and technologies), substantive administrative support and technical support functions of projects or studies of, but not limited to, FEMA’s Nationwide Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) Program and local government participation in local FEMA - Approved Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plans as of 2006 in the 3,141 counties or county-equivalents in the Nation.

As of 3/31/2008, as a Emergency Operations Specialist, while continuously evaluating the effectiveness of the systems and programs, based on customer feedback, to improve services and operations, while minimizing administrative expenses; provides strategic and operations support to the Chief, Central Geographical Area of Responsibility (CGAR) of the Operations Branch of NDMS. Serves as a contact to counterparts in various Federal, State, local, and voluntary agencies and organizations to coordinate the training, activation, deployment and demobilization of the NDMS Disaster Medical Assistance Teams (DMATS), specialty teams, resources, equipment, personnel, and other assets as needed to supplement State and local medical resources during disasters and emergencies. And supports the Federal medical response to public health and medical emergencies; and natural or manmade disasters, including hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods, transportation accidents, and terrorist acts. (e.g WMD)
Hazards and Disaster Research, and Home and Office Automation, first computers at home were a Heath ET-3400 and Heath H-8 with a teletype keyboard, Then for school had a Zenith Z-160 (and hand-truck), Now the home server is a Toshiba Magnia SG-30 with two 100 GB drives with a XP desktop and a few ThinkPad T-30 used for school, with the MS Office suite products, now know as MS Office Ultimate 2007, Contemplating an upgrade of the home server with, WHS, or, Win2K8, or SBS, on, a NORCO DS-520G, with 5, 1TB drives, with a 1GB back-bone router, . Daily drive none, thinking about, a Isuzu VehiCROSS, or a, Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer 712K, if I can find one.
