I determined and implemented Maintenance policies that were safe, the most efficient and cost effective for the in-service management of a wide range of systems. I was accountable for determining the tactical and strategic Asset Management policy from inception to disposal of diverse equipment (from old mechanical to modern electronic, buildings etc). These policies were the mainstay of the 5-year business plan ensuring the correct support organisation will exist.
I negotiated long-term support contracts and review the design of systems ensuring we had the lowest cost of ownership across the life of the equipment without compromising Availability and Reliability targets. This analysis was formally reviewed on a regular basis (during the equipment life) to ensure that the system was still achieving very high supportability targets.
