With sincere appreciation, I'm very happy to share the news that I have been awarded the 2014 Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant.

Educator in studio art: writing and teaching studio courses in painting, drawing, anatomy, drawing concepts and multimedia concepts at both undergraduate and graduate levels. I have a 41 year exhibition history with solo shows in New York at The Dactyl Foundation, E.M. Donahue Gallery, Getler/Pall Gallery, Betty Cunningham Gallery, Susan Caldwell Inc., The Soho Playhouse and fiction/nonfiction; and elsewhere at The Albany Institute of History & Art, Apel Galeri, Istanbul, Moss/Chumley Gallery, Dallas, van Straaten Gallery and One Illinois Exhibition Space, Chicago, among others. Regionally, I have had solo exhibitions in Hudson at Nicole Fiacco Gallery, The Hudson Opera House, Sarah Y. Rentchler Gallery, Carrie Haddad Gallery and Studio 249 Ltd.

My work is represented internationally in numerous public collections; with paintings included in the Permanent Collections of The Neuberger Museum of Art, The University of Iowa Museum of Art, The Denver Art Museum, The Tang Museum, Skidmore College, The Castellani Art Museum, The Reading Public Museum and The Albany Institute of History & Art among others.

Exhibition catalogue texts, reviews and articles on my work have been published with frequency in journals such as Art in America, ARTFORUM, ARTnews, ARTS and Tema Celeste by noted writers such as Carter Ratcliff, Brooks Adams, Elizabeth C. Baker, John Ash, Eleanor Heartney, Eileen Myles, Marjorie Welish, William Zimmer, Dan Cameron and Ellen Schwartz Harris. My work has been included in the Art in America International Slide Survey of Contemporary Art. Writing on my work has appeared in newspapers in Dallas, Buffalo, Chicago, Istanbul, Hudson, New York and New York City.

I was awarded a Research Faculty Development Fund Grant by the New School University, where I taught at Parsons School of Design from 1975 to 2001. I served on the Governance Committee of Parsons School of Design in the establishment of both admissions policies and curriculum content. I developed the Foundation Program at the Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles and at Altos de Chavon, La Escuela de Diseño, Dominican Republic when they became attached to the New School University.

My approach to teaching art has consistently incorporated studio course content with content in related studies in the Humanities.
