Tech Programmer at Raven Software
Madison, Wisconsin Area
Over 23 years in commercial games programming. Have written games on the 8-bit machines like ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Tatung Einstein, MSX family, worked with the 16-bit ones like Amiga and Atari ST when doing PC ports from them back in the '80s, then onto consoles and/or support tools for them up to present day.
Experienced with either writing entire games myself, working as part of a team, or being completely outside the game coding by working on tools and utilities ( as at present ). Have developed with Quake & Unreal engines. Lived / worked in UK, Switzerland and US.
Just don't ask me to draw anything...
Z80, 6502, 68000, x86 ( plus extensions ), C/C++ ( +MFC & STL ), distributed background asset-building, ingame asian-language support, Perl, PHP, HTML/CSS and SQL.
Almost all my time nowdays is on asset-building and utilities, I haven't done gameplay coding for years now.

Offshoot company formed by ex Traveller's Tales people, renamed itself to Hammerhead Ltd after a few months.
This was the first company I'd worked at as a team-programmer, not just doing the whole game myself as in the earlier days
Programmer on "Shadow Master" ( Psygnosis, PC & Playstation 1 )
Plus I wrote various inhouse tools/ editors for "Quake 2" ( Activision, Playstation 1 )

November 1996 — May 1997 (7 months)
Another crappy little UK development house with less than a dozen people. Was working on a game entitled "Of Light And Darkness" for Interplay when it all collapsed. Wages owed. Waste of time. Final game made by another team and was nothing like ours.
(Computer Games industry)
January 1996 — October 1996 (10 months)
This company was a complete joke. About 6 employees, wages problems, and a paranoid manager that we eventually took to court ;-)Wrote a German-only soccer-manager game called 'Der Coach', publisher unknown ( if anyone even bothered ), plus started an RTS prototype before the company collapsed.
