The Brockport Riverbats play in the New York Collegiate Baseball League. Founded in 1978. The NYCBL is a development league for professional baseball and is sanctioned by Major League Baseball. The team plays a two month short season minor league schedule.
Four Riverbat players were drafted in the MLB draft in June 2007. Eight Riverbat alumni are playing baseball professionally.
The Riverbats won the NYCBL title in 2008 defeating the Glens Falls Golden Eagles 3-2 in game 3 of a 3 game series. -

The New York Collegiate Baseball League is a two month short season minor league supported by Major League Baseball.
The league allows prospects who want to retain NCAA eligibility to play professional baseball without pay. Founded in 1978 the hundreds of prospects have continued their professional career. Tim Hudson (Atlanta Braves) and Brad Lidge (Philadelphia Phillies) played in the NYCBL.
There are fourteen teams in the NYCBL including: Glens Falls Golden Eagles, Saratoga Phillies, Bennington Bombers, Amsterdam Mohawks, Little Falls Miners, Watertown Wizards, Geneva Red Wings, Webster Yankees, Brockport Riverbats, Niagara Power, Bolivar AIA, Allegany County Nitros, Hornell Dodgers, and Elmira Pioneers. -
