With a background as a software consultant in a variety of industries, in consulting organizations ranging from small to the largest in the world, I bring expertise, energy, enthusiasm and effectiveness to every assignment.
Some organizations rigidly separate the roles of architect and business analyst, but I am most productive when these boundaries are fuzzy, and I participate in both the requirements and analysis and the architecture of the solution.
My resume (downloadable from www.sid-bursten.com) demonstrates:
* Years of business strategy and management consulting experience, including technical and strategy consulting positions with IBM Global Services
* Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to develop effective and persuasive proposals
* Skilled in schema-development, data mapping, interface workflow diagramming and process engineering
* Effective acquisition and organization of data, delivery of results and identification of business implications
* Independent leadership of day-to-day client communications
* Effective work in team-based environments
* Lasting relationships with clients and internal staff
Specific experience includes:
* Leading JAD sessions
* Gathering requirements
* Conducting Use Case and work flow analysis
* Outlining business rules
* Developing domain object models
* Recognizing gaps and trends
* Visualizing the impact of a solution across an enterprise
* Understanding how a solution will integrate with emerging technologies
And since I've done it all, from developing a commercial computer language to inventing new ways of solving corporate accounting problems, from coding to full-system architecture, in team sizes of one up to thousands, I command the respect of my peers, reports and clients.
My strength as a software architect is that I am not only adept and developing solutions for complex business problems, but I am a skilled business analyst who quickly becomes an expert in the business domain, effectively gathers and prioritizes requirements, and achieves buy-in from management, users and developers for the planned solution.

Architect of the innovative financial system for institution-pharmacies. I not only to created a flexible and efficient object-oriented financial, general ledger, claims and pricing system but solved 2 problems of all healthcare systems:
1) Healthcare providers cannot routinely expect full payment on all invoices, and shortfalls are not "bad debts"
2) Workers in healthcare are prone to 1-sided transactions that unbalance ledgers.
I solved them both.
(Note: From 1999 and 2003 I was a consultant at Albion International, senior consultant/IT architect at IBM, and Strategy & Planning Leader for the global software outsourcing division of IBM, before being rehired by Neighborcare.)
