* Telecommuting Technology: Instrumental in developing procedures and technologies for telecommuting. Provided cost analysis indicating significant cost savings (including releasing a half floor of office space) by using telecommuting on a part time basis.
* PRI Conversion: Converted major State PBX sites from analog trunks to ISDN PRI digital trunks. Besides increasing call efficiency and adding valuable features, the State now recognizes in excess of $1,000,000/yr ongoing cost savings.
* T1 Archeology: Investigated and discovered numerous unused and poorly documented digital communications lines. Removed them from service at a yearly savings of $75,000.
* Qwest Billing Analysis: Monitored on a regular basis Qwest billing for digital lines. Challenged improper billing resulting in a yearly savings of $75,000.
* VoIP Lab: Installed a Voice over IP lab to investigate real and imagined savings using this technology versus traditional voice technologies. Ongoing developments towards unified communications using SIP may indeed indicate VoIP will be an efficient and cost saving technology for State communications.
* Video Conferencing: Instrumental in the design and development of the video conferencing network and of desktop video conferencing saving State employees considerable travel time and costs.
* Channelbank Replacement Project: Developed a three year plan to replace obsolete and unsupported channel bank equipment in the microwave network. Equipment was ordered and replaced under the planned $360,000 budget.
