Scott Lewis' Summary

I began my career in advertising and marketing as a graphic designer and art director and still do design work on the side. I am an expert in all aspects of web application and site development and design.I can move easily between backend tasks (Java, PHP, Oracle DB and MySQL) and frontend tasks (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Ajax and design).

I have worked in the area of content management for ten years and have extensive experience with systems written in Java and PHP including Oracle Universal Content Server (formerly Stellent), Joomla/Mambo, WordPress and TextPattern.

I'm known for having pit bull tenacity and once I start on a problem, I can't let it go until I solve it. This is a very beneficial trait in consulting as I am often in situations where I need to ramp up very quickly on new technologies. Currently I am working on projects in both Drupal and Ruby on Rails - both of which are new technologies for me. The key is finding the underlying patterns and paradigms in a given technology and expanding from there. Many times experience and intuition play a key role in figuring out how things work.

I built the lightweight open source CMS SkyBlueCanvas and still maintain the project. The software has been downloaded approximately 50,000 times since its release in 2008.
