Today Saurin works in the social games and entertainment industry in San Francisco/Bay Area. He leads product and business strategy in next-generation platforms at Digital Chocolate, including the iPhone, Android, virtual worlds and economies and social networks. He has helped launch four #1 titles on the iPhone, leading to over 8 million downloads in less than 100 days, helping to create one of the most successful game portfolios on the iPhone.
Prior Saurin Shah was an early entrant into the world of digital media. In 1993 he began a movement to legally distribute music online at a time when Prodigy was the largest US ISP. Ahead of his time, he pioneered a digital distribution model which leveraged the power of the Internet to cheaply deliver music to fans anywhere in the world. His business, Trax In Space, became the largest Internet music property for amateur musicians and trackers (digital musicians).
Later at Digital Rhythms, Inc., a technology incubator which bought Trax In Space, Saurin raised $2 million in funding and assumed the role of VP Product. At a time when "eyeballs" and a revenue stream years in the future was the norm, Saurin began a successful subscription model to take advantage of the 50,000+ plus musicians and millions of users at Trax In Space.
