I'm a freelance writer, specialising in ethical consumerism and 'green living,' social and environmental issues and the Middle East. Publications include the Big Issue, New Internationalist, The Arab, New Start, Young People Now, Ethical Consumer, Women's Enews, Red Pepper and Electronic Intifada. I'm also a research associate at Ethical Consumer Research Association, a board member of Togetherworks, the representative network for social enterprises in Greater Manchester, and a member of the advisory board of labour rights NGO Women Working Worldwide. I'm currently working on my first book, a political biography of Leila Khaled for Pluto Press.
