Sara Haveron's Summary

Like many people, my interest in animals and wildlife started at a young age with me being obsessed with the family cats! Family camping holidays, as a child, allowed me to explore nature and the great outdoors, and as a young adult I have continued my explorations...

My keen interest in animals had me enrolling with the University of Surrey, in 2002, after completion from the 6th Form at Holmer Green Upper School in Buckinghamshire. I went on to earn myself a well deserved Honors degree in Zoology and furthered this by re-locating to South Africa in 2006 where I continued my education.

Then based in Stellenbosch and Cape Town, from 2006-2008, I attended Stellenbosch University and acquired a Masters degree in Conservation Ecology, from the Conservation Ecology and Entomology faculty. Researching small mammals within arid environments allowed me to expand my interests in mammalogy, and helping other students with their field work enabled me to gain experience in both entomology and herpetology.

Work-wise I am an enthusiastic and dedicated young professional, with admirable computer skills, focused on allowing abilities to flourish and interests to be fulfilled and expanded. I have a lot of experience under my belt from a life within the scientific community and professional work setting, both of which proven to have aided me greatly, and feel that many admirable skills have been acquired along the way. Attending conferences, meeting and conversing with professors and peers, proof-reading documents prior to publication in peer reviewed journals, and having the ability to write professionally, clearly and concisely are some examples that have allowed me to confidently build my personal and professional skills to a level of which I am proud.
