Dr. Ronald Federici is the country’s foremost expert in neuropsychiatric evaluations of adopted children. As the father of seven wonderful internationally adopted children, the cause is one that is close to Dr. Federici’s heart and one to which he has dedicated his entire career. Dr. Ronald Federici earned his Bachelor’s degree at Purdue University, a Master’s degree at the University of Chicago, another Master’s degree at the University of Illinois School of Professional Psychology, and dual doctorates at the University of Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Ronald Federici is licensed as both a school psychologist and a clinical psychologist in the State of Virginia and holds four fellowships and four diplomates on some of the nation’s top neuropsychiatric boards. Dr. Ronald Federici has spoken at over 100 training session and presentations and has acted as a guest lecturer and as a professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at several universities and military hospitals, including Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the Bethesda Naval Academy. Additionally, Dr. Federici is the staff neuropsychologist at both Mt. Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, VA and Dominion Psychiatric Hospital in Falls Church, VA. A published author, Dr. Ronald Federici’s research has appeared in over 30 medical journals and texts around the world. Dr. Federici is the author of the 1998 neuropsychology tome Help for the Hopeless Child: A Guide for Families (with Special Discussion for Assessment and Treatment of the Post-Institutionalized Child), which is now in its second edition. Dr. Federici has also been featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post, and Time Magazine and has appeared on HBO, CNN, the BBC, NBC’s Dateline, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Maury Povich Show, and ABC’s Frontline, 20/20, and Good Morning America. Dr. Ronald Federici’s newest book, Escape from Despair: Through the Eyes of the Child, will be available soon.
