Teaches as an Art Therapy Educator, most recently at the Saint Mary of the Woods College

After 30 years of art therapy, clinical work, mostly in psychiatric centers, we are coalescing many "nuggets" from this work to produce more easily comprehensible understandings of the process of creative artmaking with a "different intention" art for personal growth, and even, perhaps, for healing.
Currently we are focusing on creativity research using the Quatrune Brain Theory to support whole-brain education, that includes the arts, especially to find the golden key to open the creative pathways for every mystery learner, whom we suspect may be pre-verbal learners.
creativity assessment, conflict resolution, traditional art psychotherapy, creative negotiations and creativity consulting: find your vision, find your voice, find your verve !

Nuggets from 30 years of art therapy clinical work, research and education brings forth effective theory for art therapy practice: including the Life Arts Review Process's visual~verbal history taking process, an interactive approach to assess life long creative development. The Basic Visual Constructs, this progressive understanding of visual human development presents a foundation for successful human development, expression of Self and accurate art therapy assessment for effective therapeutic interventions employing the creative expressive arts, as therapy. The Creative Loop Process offers a core creativity dynamic for an evolutionary four-stage mind map, of the often overlooked visual centers as central to whole-brain education. Visual~verbal “information gathering” effectively assesses any consult's puzzling conditions, with The Wholistic Art Therapy Drawing Series, the WhATS? and the CREATAS Series, a 7 step progressive series of visual~verbal assessments.

At the CREATAS Center, we are building a center for creatvity that will continue to "spread the word" about art therapy and the effectiveness of its benefits. Here we use the creativity dynamics appraoch as a wholistic and whole brain approach to traditional art therapy theory, applications for practice research and art therapy education.
