Readmissions Predictor for Blue Cross–
Developed an application that predicted which patients would be most likely to readmit to the hospital. Using bayesian inference, the application trained on 10 years of data and then computed scores for the whole half million member base. The technology used was Java EE 6 with CDI.
Startup in the government space. Product vision is to give users tools for finding opportunities faster. As users review opportunities and flag some as interesting and others as not, the system learns. As new opportunities arrive, the probability of being of interest is computed.
The application was focused initially only on contracts. Support for Grants was added. A complete commerce implementation was done, making allowing the application to be a self-sufficient, multi-tenant SaaS application hosted in the cloud.
Technology used: Java EE 5 with Seam, JPA, JSF and Lucene.
Parallel Search Agents for DiscoveryChannel
Developed a search engine that used an Agent/Actor architecture to do parallel searches on many content sources and then combine the results. The searches fetched images from 5 sources and returned in a third of a second, running Akka (by Typesafe). The code was using Java, with Composable Futures.
