July 2012Present (2 years 3 months) houston, texas area

After 14 years of my service to beautiful University of Northern Iowa, I accepted the position of the President at the North American College beginning July 1, 2012.
I served as a chair of Energy Conversion and Conservation Division at the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) during 2012-2013.
I was formerly a professor and program coordinator of Electrical Engineering Technology Program at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). I was also the graduate program coordinator of the Dept of Technology. I have a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Eng from University of Wyoming, an MS degree in Electrical Eng from University of Colorado at Boulder, an MS degree in Computer & Control Eng. from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), and a BS degree in Electrical Eng. from ITU. I taught a number of undergraduate and graduate level classes and accomplished scholarly service including undergraduate and graduate curriculum development, new BS and MS degree programs establishment, outreach, and research in Electrical Engineering and Technology institutions for more than 19 years.
My research areas are on electrical power systems and renewable energy applications including wind, solar, and Hydrogen fuel-cell systems. I was a former director of solar electric boat development center at UNI promoting clean energy boating technologies for Iowa lakes and rivers. www.uni.edu/indtech/eet www.cns.uni.edu/eboat
I taught Building Operator Certificate classes for the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance since 2007 at IA, KS, MI, IL, MN, and MO to promote energy efficiency in industry. I was recognized by State of Iowa Senate on June, 2012 for my excellent service and contribution to state of Iowa for development of clean and renewable energy and promoting diversity and international education between 1998-2012. I served on merit reviewer committee for the U.S. Department of Energy, Grid Engineering for Accelerated Renewable Energy Deployment program in May 2013.
