COO/CTO Blu Wireless Technology Ltd
Bristol, United Kingdom
Presently engaged with next generation wireless opportunity.
I have had the honour of working with many excellent teams, crunching some of the detail, but also part of board level decision-making processes and procedures. Having been through several successful IPOs, many funding rounds, I have collected over 20 years of broad range entrepreneurial experience at the early startup phase of a company.
The principles that drive me most are centered on building an open, honest, trusting team spirit that overflows with pro-active initiative; this kind of approach I believe can make a real difference to rapid and effective success.
High initiative technology executive with a history of world class innovation and proven product delivery. Deep knowledge of high performance embedded computational systems with a wide knowledge of the electronics industry. Specializes in understanding technology markets and trends, building relationships with research teams, strategizing new technology and creating new product opportunities. More than 20 years of multiple startups, growing teams to successful product delivery.

New Startup.
Big new expanding market, limited by technology barriers, few players, audacious plan. I have seen enough to know how to build a AAA team to make this a success. If you want to join me, contact me.

Innovated a 40 Gbit network routers processor into a high performance math accelerator for supercomputing. Very low power double precision device with x16 PCIe. Found ourselves in the centre of a new revolution in HPC computation, we even were designed into the fastest supercomputer in asia. Innovated new APIs, software tools and compilers. Found success in multiple markets including next genertion rad hard Satellite and UAV projects.
Built a Monte Carlo financial risk assesment supercomputer just before the credit crunch melt down. Also used for computational chemistry simulations using state of the art methods (Bristol Univerity Comp Chemistry) for highly accurate rational drug design (Tamiflu) on flu virus.
Worked with a great team on the next generation of processor technology. An embedded GP-GPU processor, A scaleably parallel, superscaler, out of order execution architecture. A key value proposition was its pre-verified architectural scaffold and orthogonal application re-targetability with rapid building of an optimised compiler and software tool chain.

Engineering Director. Managed a large team of engineers, spanning architecture, silicon, software tools, advanced OpenGL and DirectX.
We built the first GPGPU and applied many sophisticated rendering methods in software.
So much good engineering, but a little ahead of its time.
(Computer Software industry)
1989 — 1996 (7 years )
Built so much graphics hardware in this company. Even built a graphics supercomputer based on PixelPlanes 5. Worked on PixelFlow for the desktop.
Was our first attempt in business. We improved a lot and went public before such things were common in the UK.
(Semiconductors industry)
1984 — 1989 (5 years )
Built a lot of hardware with transputers. This was so much fun for a new chap straight from university. Inmos had vision and breadth, designed and fabbed: their own processors, advanced DRAMS, advanced SRAMS. All using their own CAD design software in their own FAB based in Newport. How cool is that? So many of the UK electronics industry spawns from the Inmos dynasty.
