Biotech entrepreneur, with a focus on wastewater/water treatment and recycling as well as novel methods (technology and social engineering) for producing lignocellulosic materials as a feedstock for 21st century building materials, paper and energy and changing the existing paradigm for production of protein (feed and fish) and specialty crops (notably extractables and specialty fruits). Lifelong experience with rural development in Subcontinent and Latin America -- continued interest in bringing smallholders (5 to 20 hectares) in the subtropics into the agro-industrial mainstream. Developing "interdependent" models that allow injection of high technology ("fertigation," for instance) into a circumstance where "campesinos" and "dehaatis" joint-venture with the modern sector to maximize total productivity and profitability. Interested in creating a functional convergence of multilateral banking / bilateral aid / modern sector to bring, quickly, campesino/dehaati agribusiness (in joint ventures with the modern sector) to the front of the pack. Seeking likeminded people.
Wastewater treatment technologies: Activated sludge catalysts, phased-sequenced anaerobic digesters, aquatic vermiculture. Rural Development: Injecting functional "interdependence" (campesiono/modern sector) into the rural equation. High tech agriculture: Bringing "fertigation" into widespread use at the smallholder level. Bringing 100% processing of all agricultural products to the local level. Village-level social engineering.

BRD is now focussed on bringing 3 technologies into the commercial arena: (1) AC-2/Acticore, a bio-catalyst that can improve operating efficiencies in activated sludge wastewater treatment plants by up to 35%; (2) the "Agriquatics" family of technologies that allow construction of wastewater treatment systems that, for the first time, make a true profit (against operating & capital costs); and (3) Arundo Donax agribusiness -- the most efficient method to produce basic lignocellulosic product for building materials, paper and bioenergy.
