My passion and drive is for new media, marketing, and using education to demystify technology for customers. For the last 10 years I have studied and worked at finding new and interesting ways to reach markets and consumers. The process of "getting a message across" and helping customers feel at ease with new products they don't understand is one I thoroughly enjoy.
I have also honed my skills over the last few years in the sales world, both as a ground-level salesperson, as well as in a sales support role. I have personally managed a $40million annual sales portfolio and averaged well over goals every year in sales. I also managed a new product line for a major IT company and was responsible for driving sales within the small business sector.
It was in that role that I was able to begin to combine the sales and marketing experience that I had gained. I developed internal marketing campaigns, incentive programs, marcom, mass mailings, and other endeavors. I was also responsible for tracking the success of those efforts on a salesmaker and business level. Over my one year on the job I was able to grow the line of business in excess of goals, and grow attainment to goals over 20%.
I would like to further stretch my experience by pursuing roles that challenge my creative/marketing side. I am particularly interested in going after media creation and marketing efforts, and would also be interested in getting into advertising to combine my sales and marketing skills.
I am an expert at common MS Office applications such as Word and Excel, far too much experience with PowerPoint, and have some experience with Access and MySQL databases. I also have expert level experience with HTML and CSS, as well as some experience with javascript, PHP, and Flash, and even a little experience with some ASP scripting. I have strong aesthetic sense and do quite a bit of both video and photo editing in my spare time, as well as fancy myself a good photographer.
