Paul is an Internet crime investigator. He speaks at conferences and works regularly with law enforcement and security professionals targeting various threat landscapes. He has the ability to develop the right tools to address crimes on the Internet and forge new relationships which maximize those results.
His online experiences start back in the days of the Commodore-64 with 300 baud connections (experimenting with BBS's and modem file transfer protocols such as Kermit, Ymodem, Zmodem, Xmodem), the creation of the Centipede Network for Poetry and Prose (an alt.centipede remnant), and a SysOp of a Fidonet node (via PCBoard). The more recent milestones include the development of online community portals (such as PHP-Nuke CMS) and CastleCops with its online security vision.
Just prior to his new position with Microsoft, Paul was awarded the volunteer Microsoft MVP in Windows and Consumer Security multiple times.
His goals include enabling netizens in achieving a safer and more secure Internet experience.
Internet security: anti- phishing spam and malware, application development, system hardening. Scripting and programming languages, *nix and windows architectures, security assessment and implementation.
