1) I started my career as a Reports Generator at CISION, US, a fast-paced broadcast monitoring office in Oakland. I managed the production of Buzz Reports™, which are customized marketing reports that gauge a company's level of television exposure. Under strict deadline I researched, analyzed, edited, and designed reports for clients including American Red Cross, GQ Magazine, Victoria's Secret, Ford Motor Company, and Careerbuilder.com.
I also wrote articles for The Daily Review, The Fremont Argus and The Oakland Tribune as a Sports Correspondent for ANG Newspapers. I developed my professional writing and reporting techniques, built up my portfolio, and then used my experience with ANG and CISION to become the Sports Editor at the Morgan Hill Times.
2) As Sports Editor I wrote articles, and designed and edited a four-page section under strict deadline. Many of my stories were picked up by the Gilroy Dispatch and Hollister Freelance. In managing the sports desk I mastered the art of newspaper layout, and balanced my time between "walking the beat," reporting, writing stories and designing the sports pages.
Newspapers are dying so I went to work in new media ...
