A good product typically has nothing to do with the technology behind it, nor the problem it is solving, nor its business plan. A good product is simply one that creates economic (non-monetary) profit over time for the people who use it. A good product creates economic disincentives for people to switch to other products.

A good product makes people believe that it was a missing piece from their lives. A good product makes people lose sleep until they buy it.

Today, the rules of the game have changed - the rules that described for ages what made good products, good technology, good marketing and distribution plans, and how to interact with customers, are all being thrown out the window.

The new product strategy is a conversation between you and the people who want your product, and as a consultant my role is get your company to start talking.
