I am an academic economist with experience in business and in international organizations. During the 1990s, I worked as a consultant for the World Bank on the Middle East, in particular on Jordan and Egypt. Later, I was employed by the IMF as a Sr. Economist. At the Fund, I did mission work on the Baltics and in DC I was on G3 surveillance, Article IV reports and loan documents. Following these years I had the privilege of becoming Vice President - Chief Economist at AP Moller - Maersk. I continue to be affiliated with AP Moller through my consultancy services for APM-Terminals including membership of the company's Executive Risk Management Committee. Finally, I have the honor of serving on the Boards of Core German Residential II and Maj Invest.
At CBS I teach international financial markets and I have also a course on global capital markets. My research focuses on stock market strategies. I have recently written two books on the topic. The most recent one "Value Investing in World Equity Markets" came out in 2013 on McGraw-Hill. I am also highly interested in China's economy and in particular in China's capital markets. Finally, I spend lots of time on following global macroeconomic developments, and I am therefore often giving talks about the outlook for markets and the global economy.
Specialties: Global macroeconomics with key focus on G3 economies (the United States, the Euro Area, and Japan). Stocks markets with a particular interest in value strategies.

Maj Invest is a mutual fund with a variety of investment funds in stocks and fixed income. We also have Kontra, which is a hedge against crises and declining stocks.
