Notipal.com is the must-have tool for your website error pages.
When your website throws an error page, don't turn away visitors or lose potential sales - let people leave their email address for a follow-up notification once the problems have been fixed. Notipal makes that as simple as copying/pasting a snippet of code in to your error pages. See http://Typixel.com
As the founder / designer / developer of Notipal, I'm currently responsible for all operational aspects of the company, including directorship, the feature development roadmap, and, most importantly, making sure the product is something that developers want to install and that website visitors consider a necessity.

January 2008 — Present (1 year 7 months)
At the beginning of 2008, after gaining an understanding of the market size and capital requirements for a professionally orientated 'micro-blogging' application, I started piecing together screenshots, user experience work-flows, and product positioning for http://SoIndustry.com, a social utility to help you keep in touch with your industry via status updates, replies, news & commentary.
Having only XHTML/CSS coding abilities (the front-end design, rather than the back-end, database interactions) at the time, and a desire to experience the technical 'plumbing' aspects of running a Web start-up, I taught myself to program in Ruby on Rails and how to make a product that I, as a would-be end-user, would have a desire to use on a daily basis. SoIndustry launched in November 2008 in a private beta, and industry contacts starting testing the site.
