The database incorporates functional bar code scanning and label printing for which I had to learn DPL (Datamax Programming Language) and also barcode font differentiation, sizing and print optimization. CONSULTANT PROGRAMMER/SYSTEMS ANALYST

TRIMDATA CORPORATION

December 2000November 2002 (2 years)

I was the primary, though not only, UNIX-systems skilled consultant working for Trimdata. us Trimdata hired me out to
places like the American College, in Bryn Mawr, who made use of me as UNIX Systems Administrator- managing all
standard UNIX tasks and also moving data and applications from one older, smaller server to a larger. ere was much
research and implementation of UNIX server throughput/processing optimization strategies. TAC was primarily Compaq.
Trimdata made use of my UNIX skills with HP-UX at Datatel Corp, which has many HP servers, and at clients sites, on-site
or as remote super user by telnet. Tasks included resolving permissions issues, mounts/dismounts, user setup, installation of
C compilers, compilation, installation and implementation of 3rd party software or kernel-integrated socket service extensions
for POS and other remote, live nancial transactions.
At Trimdata I also programmed screens, reports and batch processes, installed and implemented software packages, managed
user documentation of our custom applications, acted as Windows PC tech support, and worked occasionally as a technical
writer. Much use was made of my database-programming skills using Unidata/UNIBASIC/Uniquery and Datatel's Envision
Toolkit (for interfaces) and associated Colleague and Benefactor database systems (administrative, nancial, and fundraising).
