Mike currently manages US business development efforts for the largest law firm in the world. Embracing the challenges of a three firm merger, Mike has successfully led the implementation of numerous key board level initiatves across the global platform. Recent successes include a turnaround of the firm's "key accounts" program, where he led the global program out of London. Year one efforts produced a 27% increase in gross revenues, and on average five new geographies and two new practice groups sold per client. Also out of London, he lead the development of the firm's global sector approach.

Mike is widely acknowledged as one of the innovators in law firm sales. In addition to founding the firm's Venture Pipeline Group, Mike also manages a national "sales" team across the US that is unique to law firms. The team identifies new targets in the market, and also works to expand current relationships within the firm.

Mike and his team team interact regularly with inside counsel and other C-level decision-makers - with a wide range of companies from entrepreneurial start-ups to major multinationals, across sectors such as technology, life sciences, energy, hospitality and consumer/retail.

In 2001, Mike founded the Venture Pipeline Group at DLA Piper. This DLA Piper subsidiary is specifically focused on helping early stage technology companies raise venture capital. A highly successful business unit and key firm differentiator in the marketplace, the Venture Pipeline wins over 90% of the pitches they participate in.

Mike has personally advised hundreds of emerging growth technology companies on various aspects of their business plans, including management and recruiting issues, market development, strategic partnerships and financing strategies. The group has helped more than 150 companies raise venture capital, with Krenn personaly having helped more than 50 companies raise over 100 million in capital.

An internet startup, Grip was a B2B aggregator of online tee times, golf travel and golf content. Played a lead role in transforming the business model from a B2C portal to a B2B play w/ syndication model, strategically positioning the company as a market leader within six months. Externally facing, i believe i may have been the first business development person in a major law firm in this role. Founded both the SD Band of Angels and the SD Telecom Council while at Cooley. First in company history to operate circulation department at a profit - increasing circulation 15% with a price increase of 25%. Developed and implemented fir strategic marketing plan in company history. Created first television, radio and billboard ads in company history.
