Being a scientist by background, and with a Ph.D. in mathematical modeling, I have become more fascinated by the analytical, yet strategic approaches to human capital investments. Working for GE for many years, the concept of ‘tangible assets’ was second-nature, but after joining Bellevue University, the area of measuring ‘intangible assets’ became more prevalent.
While delving into the area of corporate learning through my tenure with Bellevue University, I have learned more and more that organizations WANT to empower their people, or their “most important asset” but struggle with the HOW. Add to that, how do we measure if those investments are the right ones?
I have written three books on the subjects of evaluating and improving the investment in human capital: "ROI on Human Capital Investment", "Competitive Advantage from Human Capital Investment", and "Creating Value with Human Capital Investment".
