About me:
I'm a tenured sales and marketing executive who is probably best known from the articles written about me in Business Week Magazine or one of the many lectures I have given at business conferences, CyberLaw continuing ed events, eBusiness programs in academia, etc. Being from Silicon Valley I lived in the shadow of Stanford University where I started my career as a Corporate Accountant for Varian Associates off Sand Hill Road in Palo Alto. Wanting to leverage my talents and interests, I went back to school to earn a MBA in Marketing. Since graduating from MBA School in 2000, I have served as VP of sales and marketing with SaaS, ASP, and Enterprise Software companies in the EDMS, ECM, Enterprise 2.0, LMS, Government and Education Technology spaces.

I've spent 10 months this past year turning social media into a reliable business tool with predictable outcomes as CEO of Wi5Connect, a Web 2.0 start up. We rapidly attracted the attention of Information Week, Forrester, Gartner, Business Week and many others for our first ever application of social media to learning management systems to foster both formal and informal learning for both corporate training and education.

Right now I'm neck deep in managing customer experiences to drive profitability, customer feedback to drive product innovation, and putting the latest lead generation and prospect nurturing technologies through their paces.

Past projects include a company called SIRE Technologies, Inc (www.siretechnologies.com). Starting with revenues under $10 million and a regional presence, we grew the company internationally and became ranked in The 2007 Software 500 (Digital Business Magazine), the Inc 5000, and the Best Business to Work For in Utah. My sales team enjoyed a remarkable 90% closing rate (that is to say, we only lost to the competition 1 in 10 times).

We were the first vendor to combine a learning management system with social media to bring together both formal and informal learning supported by a single platform.
