After finalizing Naval Architecture in Rotterdam, I started as an engineer at YVC-IJsselwerf. After a year I got a position as Structural engineer at Schelde Shipyard. After gaining more experienced on some diverse projects, I became a Lead Structural engineer and was responsible for the construction of a vessel. In 2000 a position for Lead Structural engineer at Van der Giessen-de Noord came available and this was a good oppertunity, because of the current order book and all type of vessels at that moment. Being responsible for the Ferry Pascal Paoli (bnr988) and later also for a dredger (co1236) built at IHC Kinderdijk was a very good experience. When Van der Giessen closed, I could start at Oceanco as a project manager for MY Alfa Four. Since I worked there, Oceanco started with a new project y701 already known as MY Amevi. For this project and the following vessels I was again responsible for the construction. Then came the oppertunity to start our own company, called Saltwater Engineering BV
