My experience is all over the place. Inside and outside, small startups and big corporations, east coast, west coast, and in between. The most satisfying work I've done has involved finding interesting problems and solving them, and working with a small, tight group of cool and talented people. I've been freelance contracting on and off since 2001 or so, and I enjoy it quite a bit. I aim to do this as long as I can manage, and involve my aforementioned friends and colleagues in any project that suits 'em.
I'm primarily a programmer, specializing in Actionscript, Ruby, Python, Perl, web stuff, or whatever seems useful at the time. I also have a good background in computer science, game design, network and system administration, but I have also been known to write, and I can manage a project, if it comes down to that. I also perform improv at the Hideout and ColdTowne theaters here in Austin. Mostly, I just make stuff go.

I've been contracting independently for quite some time here (minus a year or so here and there to take advantage of a sweet full-time gig), and I'm pretty happy working this way. I mostly do programming and game design out of my home office in Austin, TX these days, but I'm open to all sorts of opportunities. I've been concentrating more on Flash/Actionscript stuff in the last few years, less on the webernet side of things, but my experience is very broad, and I'm always up for a new challenge.
