Lindsay Riddell's Summary

After eight years volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco, including co-founding the Young Leaders Circle and serving on the Board of Directors, I changed careers to become Habitat's Director of Marketing in September 2013. This is an amazing opportunity to finally attack the backlog of projects I've been storing on my wish list for the organization. And I'm thrilled to be working on the inside for the inventive, unstoppable organization that I've loved and admired for so long.

Prior to this job, I was a journalist for 16 years for many newspapers (although they're really news platforms now) including The San Francisco Business Times, The San Jose Business Journal, The North Bay Business Journal, The Chattanooga Times Free Press and my college paper The Red & Black.

Lindsay Riddell's Projects

  • Facebook still greatest VC investment ever, says VC Hornik

    • August 2012 to August 2012
    Team Members: Lindsay Riddell

Since its IPO, Facebook has gotten nothing but grief from the public, from investors and from the media. The stock, which debuted at $38 and a valuation of $104 billion, is now trading around $19. Investor lawsuits, the dumping of shares by board member Peter Thiel and calls for founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg to step down have made headlines of late.

But not even these things have changed venture investor David Hornik’s mind about Facebook being the “BEST VENTURE CAPITAL INVESTMENT EVER."

  • Electric cars crash into grid

    • January 2010 to January 2010
    Team Members: Lindsay Riddell

Plugging in an all-electric car today may blow the fuse box in your home or even black out the neighborhood — and your utility has no way to anticipate or prevent it.

Utilities, car companies, “smart meter” startups and others are struggling to make sure that tomorrow is different.

  • The Gambler: Vinod Khosla

    • March 2009 to March 2009
    Team Members: Lindsay Riddell

Vinod Khosla is a betting man.

Khosla Ventures, the Menlo Park-based venture firm he formed in 2004, has invested more than $500 million of his own money, mostly in clean technology companies that fight climate change and oil dependence.

If it sounds daunting, Khosla suggests a better word: fun.
