General Counsel at CARE
Greater Atlanta Area
I am the General Counsel at CARE USA. CARE is a leading international humanitarian organization working in over 70 countries around the world to address extreme poverty. CARE focuses on empowering women and girls who then can make a difference in their communities.
In 2007, I founded ethicsLINC, a consulting firm focused on assisting organizations with operational integration of compliance, business ethics and sustainability initiatives.
I served as the City Attorney for the City of Atlanta, under Mayor Shirley Franklin's leadership. During my time as the chief legal officer for the City, I transformed the Law Department into a well-respected legal department serving all the civil legal needs of the Mayor, City agencies and City Council in a proactive and well respected manner. Prior to holding this position, I was a managing attorney at UPS, and was responsible for the development and deployment of the company's highly regarded Corporate Compliance program and helped to develop the company's sustainability initiative. Prior to my time at UPS, I was an environmental attorney at Alston & Bird in Atlanta.
