Create User Guides and Technical Reference manuals for several new and ongoing projects using Adobe FrameMaker. I was the only writer on staff supporting over 5 projects at once. The business plan consisted of a wireless backbone system used to translated information real-time from servers to messaging devices. I created numerous complex graphics using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to help other disseminate the information more easily. Converted older existing documentation from MS Word to FrameMaker and published in Acrobat.

Created high level internal documents for three projects that followed QMO level 2 standards. These standards mimic the more popular ISO 9001 standards used widely throughout the industry. The product moved through a complicated life cycle with numerous documents created according to a predefined schedule. Each product contained approximately 25 documents at cycle completion. Once the project was released into production, I was responsible for creating an internal website to track changes, updates, and overall performance conditions of the project. FrameMaker, Acrobat, Net Objects Fusion, and Photoshop were all utilized extensively to complete the process.

I worked independently on several different projects at any given time to complete a module that was integrated into a large software mainframe banking system. I Interacted directly with several Business Analysts and Programmers, to get the information needed to complete the modules. Several manuals were needed to complete the modules (Programmers Reference Guide, Users Guide, Install Guide, and Report Writer Manual.) I also assisted in the migration to structured FrameMaker, from a mainframe product called Book Master. Coordinated meetings with representatives from Adobe and Hogan and acted as a technical liaison to insure a smooth transition would take place.

January 1994 — January 1996 (2 years 1 month)
Assembled a highly skilled team of Technical Writers to form a new department responsible for creating end user manual’s and online help files for upcoming software releases. Previously, the company had been using a DOS based application for creating their required documentation. I introduced and implemented the concept of using Adobe PageMaker which streamlined the process and allowed for better productivity.

When customers required a higher level of support, they were transferred to second tier support level. As a second level support specialist, I was required to perform extensive research to find answers, or submit a request to have issues fixed in an upcoming releases of the product. I was assigned to the Adobe Illustrator for Windows product. I interacted directly with the product manager, programmers, and outside contractors to resolve complex customer related issues.
