Founding member of the Nexus 1000V team, specializing in data path work on the VEM. Worked closely with VMware for 3 years as the primary technical contact from the Cisco side of the partnership which produced the Nexus 1000V. I also work closely with the Open Source office at Cisco to provide training for engineers, track usage of Open Source, and engage Open Source communities. I am Cisco's representative in the oVirt community (Cisco is a board member), the Open vSwitch community, and I work with the OpenStack@Cisco team under Lew Tucker on Cisco's OpenStack strategy.

Worked on disk based backup solutions. Worked with another engineer to implement and demo a Xen-based build environment that involved running Xen on desktop Linux machines and dynamically live migrating virtual build containers around.

Brought on board to work on what was at the time the Unlimited Parallel Filesystem (UPFS). Lead team transitioning product to it's new name Data Virtualization Services (DVS). Lead team developing features such as read/write caching, hot failover of I/O nodes, and read/write retry.

Senior Software Engineer

(4 years 2 months)

Transitioned Qlogic's (Ancor at the time) switch product line to embedded Linux. Responsible for the entire base Linux operating system, including tools, kernel, and userspace components. Also wrote the FC Nameserver for the switch products. Supported 25+ engineers by providing IT support for our Linux-based NFS/NIS build environment.

Senior Software Engineer

(2 years 6 months)

Worked on VxWorks tools initially. Transitioned into porting our control plane product from Solaris to embedded Linux running on a SA-110 processor from DEC/Intel. Custom fitted ARM Linux to work with our board, loosely based on the EBSA-285.

Worked on tools and support scripts for the Dynamics product line. Assisted with QA of various features.



Open vSwitch(Link)

Contributed the Locator/ID Separation Protocol (LISP) tunneling vport.
Contributed the VXLAN tunneling vport.
Contributed various bug fixes and support for building RPMs for Fedora.
