Since November 2006, Kirk is the Chairman and CEO of eVent Medical Inc (USA) and eVent Medical Ltd (Ireland), global manufacturing and marketing company of ICU ventilators. eVent Medical is a subsidiary of Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Company of Japan, publicly traded company with $2.3 billion annual sales.
Among his various entrepreneurial successes, Kirk founded and served as CEO of Newport Medical Instruments for 18 years, today the third largest manufacturer of respiratory ventilators in the US and the pioneer of its industrial niche in China. Widely praised for his ability to lead companies in the implementation of successful global strategies.
Between two CEO positions at global ventilator manufacturers, Kirk was President of the Kinetic Group LLC, a consultancy for high-growth Japanese medical device enterprises.
He has devoted his career to starting, developing, and operating new ventures throughout the world, mainly in the U.S., Japan, and East Asia.
Fluent both in Japanese and English. Kirk earned a BA at Middlebury College and BSc at Seikei University in Tokyo.
