Kent has a Bachelor's degree in Geography from George Mason University. During and after college he worked for the USGS, Department of the Interior in Reston Virgina as a digital cartographer. After moving to Colorado, he became the Associate Vice President of a private oil and gas firm where he was responsible for raising venture capital, funding multi-million dollar drilling projects, and maintaining client relationships.
Kent joined Diablo Media in 2008 to assist in the planning, development, and marketing of a internal suite of products and offers. His goal is to build a product line that rivals that of the largest networks in the industry by 2011.

The Forest Fire Lookout Association (FFLA), founded in 1990, is an organization involved in research of former forest fire lookout sites, ground cabins and early forest fire detection methods. Kent has been an active member since its inception.
