Duties included doing intensive Sybase ASE v11.9.x tuning for their Wystar 401k record keeping system. The original system was running on a Compaq GS160, which was later migrated to an IBM P5 series. This tuning includes tables, stored procedures, triggers, indexes, and system resource issues. I have helped in the design and implementation of their disaster recovery procedures. The system has well over 3500 stored procedures, over 40 databases with an estimated data size of over 250GB of data. Was also responsible for the conversion from Sybase 11.9 to 12.5. After conversion to 12.5, I had continued responsibility for reviewing all stored procedures, triggers, tables, and indexes for all projects. The review is to insure adherence to coding standards and performance requirements. I also instruct the developers on improved coding practices by way of brown-bag lunches and web meetings

I was primary engineer on a project to develop a wireless infrastructure for Merc Laboratories at one of their facilities outside of Lansdale, PA. This included recommending and integrating hand-held devices, using wireless technology (802.11x), to remote servers for the collection of QA data. The design was based on Sun’s J2EE technologies.
I am the designer and primary engineer on a pre-commercial, 100% pure java peer-to-peer application for use in EDI transactions/transmissions. Some of the technologies involved included SSL, cryptographic algorithms (blowfish, SHA-1, MD5, etc), multi-threading, sockets, and database connectivity. The project is at an alpha stage and we currently partnering for beta testing.
I have designed a JSP based web-site for hospital call tracking. This site is designed with JSPs, using tag libraries, Apache, Tomcat, and a MySql backend. We are currently engaging a local hospital for testing.

Currently working on an in-house project for data collection. I am writing a data server responsible for the co-ordination of the collection from various sources. This is a multi-threaded, socket-based system with database connectivity (JDBC). Co-developed a proprietary packet-based communication layer and XML based message layer for use within the collection system.

Worked on an internet project for a large payroll processing company using Java. This project required multi-threading, efficient database connectivity, in a heterogeneous, multi-tiered environment. This application required some of the database management connection class previously created (connecting to both DB2 and oracle), as well as a complex multi-threading core. This application is now known as ADP-EasyPay.
